Her Songs and Films: Back & Forth to Try Again

Some songs change a room the moment they start. Aaliyah had a few of them, and a couple of films too. Here's a short guide to the singles and screen roles behind her story.

Which songs started it all?

"Back & Forth" was the first single from her 1994 debut, Age Ain't Nothing but a Number, and it went to number one on the R&B chart. "Are You That Somebody?" followed in 1998.

What is "Try Again"?

"Try Again" came out in 2000 from the Romeo Must Die soundtrack and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

What about her albums' singles?

One in a Million gave us "If Your Girl Only Knew", "4 Page Letter" and "The One I Gave My Heart To". Her 2001 album Aaliyah brought "We Need a Resolution", "Rock the Boat" and "More Than a Woman", which became a number one in the UK.

Did she act too?

Yes. She starred in Romeo Must Die (2000), and Queen of the Damned was released in 2002, after her death.

In the shop: the One in a Million Singles design lists the album's singles like an old poster, and Princess of R&B carries her nickname in script with hearts and a little crown.
